The condition

A lead wrist is a mill condition. Bowed, flat, or cupped. Not a feeling.

We do not sell shapes. We mark whether the lead wrist bows, stays flat, or cups on this clay, in this heat.

A pretty finish can hide a cup. Players call a cupped ticket "lag they meant." The mill calls it grease that does not match the condition. Holt writes the clay. Nelle writes BOWED, FLAT, or CUPPED. Sadie hangs the tag on the matching hook.

Flat tickets are boring and that is the shift we pay. Broad Street heat will still interview the wrist. If the slate says FLAT, it means we watched the lead hand, not the highlight.
